The tourmaline with gem-quality value is almost all produced from pegmatite granite. The tourmaline is widely distributed, but most of the tourmalines on the market are from Brazil. Others include Tanzania, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Afghanistan. Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Italy, California and Myanmar, and even Xinjiang and Yunnan in mainland China.
