Germany's textile and apparel retail sales growth in March

In March, retail sales in Germany fell by 0.6% month-on-month, after deducting price factors, they fell by 0.7% month-on-month and 1.9% year-on-year. Textiles, clothing and footwear also increased by 5.1%.

In the first quarter, German retail sales increased by 1.2% year-on-year, and the German Retail Consortium (HDE) forecasted retail sales growth of 1.5% for the full year of 2013, while retail sales in Germany increased by 1.1% in 2013. Benefiting from good employment and rising wages, the outlook for the German consumer market is positive.
