At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Chinese President Wu Dengsheng and his entourage visited the Lingguang Temple in Beijing on the morning of the 28th and participated in the embellishment of the Emerald Buddha Icon of the Emmanuel Temple in Myanmar.

During the grand welcoming ceremony, President Wu Dengsheng was accompanied by Jiang Jianyong, deputy director of the State Administration of Religious Affairs of China, and Yang Houlan, Chinese ambassador to Myanmar. He was warmly received by the deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Buddhist Association and the abbot of the Lingguang Temple. The sorghums of the Burmese sorghum and the Lingguang Temple mourned the Buddhist scriptures respectively. The pilgrimage to the Emerald Buddha's icon of the Emmanuel Temple in Myanmar and the Lingguang Temple in Beijing donated the fourth sacred Buddha stupa to Myanmar.
Wu Dengsheng visited the Emerald Buddha icon at the scene and worshipped the Changzang Master. According to the Burmese tradition, Wu Dengsheng presented the jewels and jade to the Lingguang Temple on behalf of the Myanmar government. He expressed his sincere wishes for the traditional friendship between China and Burma to be passed down from generation to generation, and to continue the success of Buddhism and to share the friendship between China and Myanmar.
The Changzang Master presented Wu Dengsheng with the Buddha Stupa and said that President Wu Zongsheng’s visit is of far-reaching significance and will promote the friendship between the two Buddhists for generations.
Beijing Lingguang Temple has a history of more than 1,200 years. Among them, the Sakyamuni Buddha, who was enshrined in the Buddha’s body, was invited by the Burmese government and the Buddhist community to go to Myanmar for a four-time tour, which caused a great sensation. In June 2013, Beijing Lingguang Temple donated three statues of stupa, such as the Golden Buddha and the Tooth, to Myanmar.
President Wu Dengsheng and his entourage will also visit the White Horse Temple in Luoyang, Henan Province, and attend the inauguration ceremony of the Burmese-style Buddhist Temple and the Enlightenment Fa Conference.
