Today, we're thrilled to bring you the Earth Science collection, a stunning lineup of eight new apparel patterns released by Named for the fall season of 2017. This collection is a celebration of nature and science, drawing its inspiration primarily from the earth sciences, particularly geology. If you look closely, you'll notice the geometric patterns of crystallized rocks reflected in the layered designs of this collection. Each piece offers unique cuts and structures that are not only technically innovative but also incredibly modern.
The Earth Science collection comprises five dress patterns, one coat, one skirt, and a pair of pants. Additionally, two of the dresses can be transformed into tops, giving you even more styling options.
First up is the Agate Pencil Dress, a sleek, semi-fitted dress with kimono sleeves. It's designed to flatter the figure and features a pencil skirt-style hemline. The dress reaches midi-length and has an invisible zipper on the side seam for adjustability, along with another invisible zipper at the front for the vent.
Next is the Amber Pinafore Dress, which boasts an A-line silhouette with a beautifully curved front design. It has deep armholes and a V-neck, complemented by a buckle fastening on the racerback detail at the back and an invisible zipper on the side.
The Beryl Dress draws its inspiration from bomber jackets, offering a short, unlined mini dress. It comes with a front zipper closure, a short vent at the hem, and raglan sleeves with gathered elastic at the waist. Its 3/4-length sleeves also feature elasticized openings, and it includes patch pockets.
The Gaia Quilted Coat is a loose-fitting, straight-cut outerwear piece with a lining. It features a contrasting back and sides, reaching mid-thigh length. The coat has wide lapels and intersecting cuts at the shoulders, fastening with three snaps and including welted pockets.
The versatile Gemma pattern offers two distinct variations: a sporty sweater and a feminine jersey dress. Both versions showcase an intriguing geometric cut at the front and a funnel neck. The sweater is loose-fitting, with elasticated sleeves and a drawstring hem, while the dress is semi-fitted, maxi-length, and features a deep vent at the back hem.
The Ruri pattern introduces a chic yet comfortable pair of sweatpants. These slim-fit pants have tapered legs with a slight crop, featuring pleat details and snap fastenings at the leg openings. They also include a faux fly at the front, an elasticated back waist, and side pockets.
The Stella pattern gives you two choices: a casual blouse and a feminine dress. Both variations feature kimono sleeves with a raglan cut, French seams at the sleeve and side seams, and triangular collars. The blouse has narrow cuffs with pleats that fasten with snaps and a front snap closure. The dress has gathered elastic at the waist and cuffs, a pussy bow collar, and a vent at the neckline.
Finally, the Tierra Wrap Skirt offers a casual yet stylish option with its straight-cut, wrap-around design. It has an asymmetrical hem below the knee, secured with a wrap tie that beautifully gathers the front. The skirt is double-layered, allowing you to use the same fabric for both the outer layer and lining.
All eight of these new patterns are now available in the Named section of the Oliver + S shop. For more detailed images, visit the specific pages for each pattern.
